Equipment.
Dumbbells - whatever weights you are comfortable with. If you are looking for an adjustable set to save space, I would go with Bowflex. I have a pair of the Select Tech 1090s and they are great.
Resistance Bands - Both long and short bands are very useful and affordable. Sweet Sweat mini loop for short and Wsakoue or another set of pull up assistance bands for long bands.
Required.
Optional.
Bench- Amazon has a variety of affordable adjustable benches.
Physio Ball- Affordable and can be used for a variety of things.
Medicine Ball- Affordable, I use them for a few exercises but most can be done with a dumbbell instead.
Jump Rope- Great for cardio, does not need a lot of space and cheap.
Perfect Pushups- Affordable and easier on the wrist than regular pushups. They also allow for a greater range of motion on the chest.
Squat Rack- If you have the space it opens up a whole new world of weightlifting. Amazon has a lot to choose from for a fair price.
Lifting Belt- If you are lifting heavy or have a lower back issue a lifting belt is a good idea. It provides support for your lower back and helps reduce injury. Amazon has a lot to choose from, I recommend a stiff leather belt.
Pull Up Bar- Can be used for a few exercises does not take up a lot of space.
Heart Rate Monitor- Very helpful to let you know what heart rate zone you are in. They are also a good idea to let you know when you should take a break or if your heart is not working correctly. Safety First!
Food Scale- Great tool to have for getting an exact amount of grams/ounces of food. Affordable and a must have for Silver and Gold tier members.
Barbells- If you purchase a squat rack purchase a barbell. They are great for so many exercises.
You will also need to purchase weights to use with it.
Easy Curl Bar- This bar is good for many exercises and is smaller than a standard barbell. The grooves in the bar help ease wrist tension when curling.
Triceps Bar/Hammer Curl Bar- Good for a few exercises. Much easier on the wrist than the barbell or easy curl bar due to the vertical wrist position.
