It’s a New Year! About those Resolutions…

Every New Year many people make resolutions to better themselves. A lot of them are health related. Here are some ideas to help guide you to completing them.

  1. Write down your goals

  6. Commit to yourself and execute

Write down your goals

  • Be specific and realistic

  • Make short-term and long-term goals

  • Check them off when you complete them, it will give you a feeling of accomplishment

Come up with a plan

  • You have your goals now you need a plan to achieve them

  • You will need a workout program you can track results

  • You will need a macro-based nutrition program

Figure out where you will be exercising

  • Gyms will have everything you need but will be crowded for a few months

  • Buying bands and light dumbbells for home workouts will be enough

  • Choose somewhere that has what you need and is CONVENIENT

Find what time works best for you to workout uninterrupted

  • For most people this is before or after work

  • Even if it’s only 30 minutes that can be enough

  • My wife gets up at 4am just to work out, and have time to herself

Come up with a nutrition plan

  • A macro-based plan will be very helpful

  • Track your calories you take in at least until you get the hang of it

  • Track the calories you burn using a heart rate monitor or smart watch

COMMIT to yourself and EXECUTE

  • You have your goals, plan, place, time, exercises, and nutrition

  • You just need to commit to being healthier and follow the steps

  • Execute your plan and feel better, look better, live better

You can do this! Yes, it’s going to take some work. But everything in life takes work. Landing a successful job, being healthy, having a happy marriage, raising children, all take work. Just apply that same mindset to taking care of yourself. You are worth it! Everyone deserves to be comfortable in their own skin and to be proud of themselves on the inside and the outside.

To anyone wondering how the hot wing challenge went on Christmas. I somehow survived all 10 wings! I think I lost the ability to taste after number 5. I was sweating, eating ice cream and definitely regretting my choice. After I finished the last one my mouth was numb for 45 minutes and speaking made it worse. The next morning was not pleasant, if it goes in hot it comes out hot!

Happy New Year!!!

I hope this year brings you and your loved one’s health and happiness!

You can do this! We’re stronger together!
